NBA Summer League Championship: Live updates

LAS VEGAS, NV – The NBA Summer League Championship is here. Tip-off is set for 10 p.m. ET, broadcast on ESPN, featuring the Sacramento Kings vs. the Charlotte Hornets. The Kings and Hornets advanced to the final with perfect 5-0 records in the Summer League. The Sacramento Kings defeated the Toronto Raptors in the semifinals, 98-88. Second-year forward Isaac Jones led the team with 36 points, six rebounds, and two assists. The Charlotte Hornets beat the Oklahoma City Thunder, 109-80, with undrafted guard Jaylen Sims leading Charlotte with 25 points, while rookie Kon Knueppel added 17 points. This marks the Kings’ third appearance in the title game and their first since 2021, while the Hornets have reached the Summer League final for the first time.

Charlotte seems to control the game thus far, 34-18, at the second quarter mark. Defense is controlling the game very well, and accuracy is also working in Charlotte’s favor. There is still a lot of basketball left here from the Thomas and Mack Center, but some Charlotte fans are rather optimistic.

At halftime, the Hornets are in the lead, 46-39, against the Sacramento Kings. It’s a close game at the Thomas and Mack Center, where the championship trophy is in the center and two quarters of basketball remain in Las Vegas until next year. We’ll be back in eight minutes.

We are entering the final ten minutes of Summer League action with about seven minutes left in the fourth quarter. The Charlotte Hornets have a narrow lead over the Sacramento Kings 71-62.

A dribble out and a three-pointer elevated the Charlotte Hornets to comfort at 78-74, but a three-pointer from the Sacramento Kings put them right back at 78-77 with less than twenty seconds left.
