NBA Insider reveals shocking Giannis Antetokounmpo trade update

Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo has made headlines in the early portion of the offseason due to ravaging trade rumors surrounding the 30-year-old.

However, the latest intel from NBA Insider Brian Windhorst indicates that the former MVP may not be on the move after all.

On ESPN’s Get Up Windhorst said that teams around the NBA have accepted the reality that Antetokounmpo is more likely to stay put in Milwaukee than be dealt this offseason. The nine-time All-Star averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game this past season.

“He’s not going to ask for a trade. At least not right now,” Windhorst said. “Teams around the league have come to terms with that.”

This report contradicts that of ESPN’s Shams Charania, who earlier this week reported that Antetokounmpo could look to explore his options outside of Milwaukee. Antetokounmpo wasn’t a fan of that report, even going as far as to tweet out a shot at Charania.

”Does anyone else miss Woj??” He asked on X, referring to former ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski.

Antetokounmpo’s Bucks bowed out in the first round of the playoffs for the third consecutive season this past year. The Bucks’ roster isn’t getting any younger, and with Damian Lillard’s achilles injury set to keep him out for most of next season, rumors have circulated that Antetokounmpo, who has spent all 12 seasons of his career in Milwaukee, could be on the move. But for now, it appears that he is staying put.
