NBA Finals Game 6 final score, results: Pacers ride first-half momentum, blow out Thunder to force Game 7

The Pacers entered Thursday with their backs against the wall — and they delivered for their home crowd in every way possible.

Indiana got whatever it wanted against the Thunder in Game 6 of the 2025 NBA Finals, dominating both ends of the floor in a 108-91 win that was virtually sealed by the time the fourth quarter began. Things had not been going the Pacers’ way in the last two Finals games — they lost Games 4 and 5 while Tyrese Haliburton dealt with a calf injury — but yet again, Rick Carlisle’s underdog squad responded, adding a signature win to its 2025 run in its biggest game yet.

The Thunder came out on an 8-2 run in the first quarter, and Haliburton, playing through his calf strain, missed his first three shots. But that was about the extent of Indiana’s struggles for the night. The second frame swung 36-17 in the home team’s favor, with Pascal Siakam dominating offensively, Haliburton remaining effective as a shooter despite his injury, and a gritty Pacers bench, including Obi Toppin (20 points) and T.J. McConnell (12 points, nine rebounds, six assists), igniting the crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The signature play of Game 6 was a sweet Haliburton pass that became a Siakam poster over Jalen Williams, which came during the Pacers’ huge second-quarter run. Ultimately, the first-half avalanche was more than enough to propel Indiana to force one last Finals contest.

A historically dominant Thunder team had its chance to close out the series Thursday, but once again, the Pacers silenced their doubters and proved they’re just as legitimate of a title threat by stepping up to the moment. The first NBA Finals Game 7 in nearly a decade is coming — will Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Thunder respond to a blowout loss, or will the Pacers cap off a storybook run to the title?

The Sporting News tracked live updates and highlights from Game 6 of the NBA Finals between the Pacers and Thunder, with Indiana rolling to a blowout win. Here’s what you may have missed.

Thunder vs. Pacers highlights from Game 6 of 2025 NBA Finals

All times ET.

11:07 p.m. — A fourth quarter that wasn’t all that necessary comes to an end, and the Pacers have officially forced Game 7 of the NBA Finals. It was a dominant effort on both sides of the ball, from an injured Tyrese Haliburton going for 14 points, to Siakam’s double-double and Obi Toppin’s 20 points off the bench.

Indiana’s well-knit unit has produced another signature victory, while the Thunder fumbled their opportunity to close out the series. Now, who knows what could happen in Game 7.

11:02 p.m. — Pascal Siakam finishes with another terrific playoff performance.

10:57 p.m. — Nothing has changed in this fourth quarter. Bench players have entered the game for both sides, and Indiana is up by 25. It’s been a historic night for the Pacers, who will also soon be one win away from their first championship.

End of third quarter: Pacers 90, Thunder 60

10:37 p.m. — Another quarter, another buzzer-beater for the Pacers. Ben Sheppard makes it a 30-point lead with a three from the logo, just another highlight in what’s been one of the greatest individual games in the history of the franchise. Indiana can’t miss tonight, and OKC can’t buy a bucket. We’re 12 minutes from Game 7 becoming official.

10:32 p.m. — Oklahoma City has found no luck in getting back in this game. It’s 80-57 Pacers with a few minutes left in the third quarter. Four Pacers are in double-digit scoring, and they have 18 assists on 28 field goals. Gilgeous-Alexander has done his best with 21 points, but the rest of the Thunder have been quiet.

10:31 p.m. — If you wanted more angles and content from the massive Pascal Siakam dunk earlier … here you go:

10:20 p.m. — If a 70-45 lead for the Pacers isn’t telling enough, a few more stats:

  • Indiana is out-rebounding OKC 31-25
  • Indiana has four turnovers, OKC has 13
  • Gilgeous-Alexander and Williams have 31 combined points. The rest of the Thunder have 16
  • OKC is 1-for-16 (!) from 3-point range
  • Indiana has attempted 64 shots, OKC has attempted 47

10:15 p.m. — Nearly five minutes have passed in the third quarter, and the Thunder still haven’t scored. Their offense is completely out of sorts, an uncharacteristic trait for OKC in these playoffs. Meanwhile, it’s now ballooned to a 28-point lead for Indiana. Anybody care for a Game 7?

10:05 p.m. — The second half is under way, and the Pacers have a comfortable lead to work with. Can they hold on and force the first NBA Finals Game 7 in almost a decade?

Halftime: Pacers 64, Thunder 42

9:48 p.m. — What a way to send it to halftime. Siakam beats the buzzer to cap an all-time Pacers run as they seek to force Game 7. Indiana leads by a whopping 22 points at the break, with Siakam up to 13 points. Since his slow start, Haliburton’s got 12 points as well, looking healthy. Williams and Gilgeous Alexander have combined for 31 Thunder points, but it hasn’t been enough.

9:47 p.m. — Oh my goodness, Tyrese Haliburton and Pascal Siakam! The point guard tosses his star teammate a quick pass on a fastbreak while turning away, and Siakam throws down a ferocious dunk right over Jalen Williams afterward. Indiana has been unreal in the first half.

9:42 p.m. — The Pacers are now up by 17 following another Haliburton three and a block from Myles Turner. They’ve got all the momentum.

9:35 p.m. — Aaron Nesmith from deep, and the Indiana crowd is fired up. The Pacers want Game 7.

9:33 p.m. — Indiana has its largest lead of the NBA Finals so far. McConnell has been everywhere, and OKC has gone silent offensively.

9:26 p.m. — Another big-time run for Indiana. McConnell hits another mid-range jumper, then passes it off to Haliburton for his second three. Following a put-back bucket from Tony Bradley, the Pacers are back up to an eight-point lead. Playoff T.J. McConnell hasn’t slowed down.

9:20 p.m. — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander hasn’t missed a beat for Game 6.

End of first quarter: Pacers 28, Thunder 25

9:09 p.m. — The Pacers cooled down a bit after their big run, but they still lead as the first quarter comes to an end. Defensively, they held their own against the Thunder, but Gilgeous-Alexander and Williams still both scored seven points apiece. Toppin and Nembard both have eight for Indiana.

8:58 p.m. — The Pacers are on fire. TJ McConnell and Obi Toppin picked up right where they left off in Game 5, with McConnell getting another backcourt steal, and Toppin nailing two threes as soon as they subbed into the game. Then, Haliburton finally connects on a shot, and it comes from deep to give Indiana a seven-point lead.

8:55 p.m. — Indiana immediately responds with a 13-5 run, getting downhill more often. Andrew Nembard connected on consecutive 3-pointers, and the home crowd is loud in Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

8:47 p.m. — OKC opens on an 8-2 run, with Jalen Williams notching four of those points. The injured Tyrese Haliburton is 0-3 from the field to begin Game 6.

8:44 p.m. — It’s probably fair to say: Tyrese Haliburton would not be playing tonight if it wasn’t the NBA Finals.

8:42 p.m. — They’re under way in Game 6. Will Indiana force Game 7, or will Oklahoma City claim the Larry O’Brien trophy?
