NBA All-Star voting 2025: Takeaways from second fan vote returns to decide starting lineups

The 2025 NBA All-Star Game is just over one month away and we’re one step closer to learning which players will earn the distinction of being an All-Star Game starter.

Fan voting for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game began on Dec. 19 and will run through Jan. 20. Each Thursday within that period, the NBA provides returns from fan voting before the starters are announced on Thursday, Jan. 23.

Since 2017, the NBA All-Star fan vote accounts for 50 percent of the vote to determine starters and the other 50 percent is split evenly between current players and a media panel. New this year is a revamped All-Star Game format featuring a four-team mini-tournament, but 10 starters will be identified as they have in the past.

The second NBA All-Star fan vote returns are set to be released on Thursday, Jan. 9 and provide an updated look at where things stand. Starters will be revealed in two weeks and the new NBA All-Star Draft will take place in February.

Here are the second returns from All-Star Game voting and what they could mean for this year’s showcase.
