NBA 3-Point Contest prize money: How much does the winner make in 2025?

The NBA’s 3-Point Contest has been a mainstay over All-Star Weekend for decades, although its seen its share of changes over the years.

Every year, some of the league’s best shot-makers get together on All-Star Saturday night to compete in the shooting competition, with more recent changes including point incentives for deeper makes. In 2025, the group of eight 3-Point Contest contestants includes Jalen Brunson, Cade Cunningham, Darius Garland, Tyler Herro, Buddy Hield, Cam Johnson, Damian Lillard and Norman Powell.

Only two of those players have won the contest before: Lillard, who’s looking to three-peat this year, and Hield, who won it in 2020.

How much money will be on the line for the NBA’s 2025 3-Point Contest? Here’s what to know about the financial bonuses the eight shooters could receive.

NBA 3-Point Contest prize money

The NBA’s Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) calls for $60,000 to be awarded to the 3-Point Contest winner. However, all eight participants walk away with at least some cash.

2nd place earns $40,000, while 3rd place earns $25,000. The four players to finish between 4th and 7th each get $15,000, while last place gets $10,000.

Even the $60,000 prize for winning the competition doesn’t stack up to much in comparison to the contracts of the NBA’s highest-paid players, a likely reason that the group of contestants often features All-Star selections that would have been in town for the festivities anyway.

This year, the group of All-Stars competing in the 3-Point Contest includes Brunson, Cunningham, Garland, Herro and Lillard.
