NASCAR’s Cup Series is coming off a successful debut in Mexico with the Viva Mexico 250. Shane van Gisbergen dominated the road course picking up his first win of the season.
The Cup Series heads to Pennsylvania this week as the starting lineup has to deal with the Tricky Triangle and the Pocono Raceway. The 2025 Great American Getaway will be held on Sunday, June 22. This will be the only trip to Pocono for the Cup Series this season. Last year’s winner was Ryan Blaney.
While it feels like this NASCAR season just started, there are only 10 races left, including this weekend’s, before the playoffs start. Heading into the 2025 Great American Getaway, William Byron sits atop the leaderboard, followed by Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell.

Who won the Great American Getaway pole for 2025?
Death, taxes and Denny Hamlin owning the Tricky Triangle. Hamlin has the most wins at the Pocono Raceway in history, and he dominated qualifying to earn his first pole of the season. This marked his 44th career pole win on the Cup Series, and he became the oldest Cup Series driver since 2017 to earn pole position.
Hamlin will be joined on the front row by Chris Buescher. His teammates Chase Briscoe, Ty Gibbs and Tyler Reddick will start sixth, seventh and eighth respectively.
