Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a landmark for American motorsports. It’s easy to see why NASCAR wants a taste.
Known for its signature event, the Indianapolis 500, the Brickyard is as enchanting as it is harrowing. In a world of increasingly fewer colosseums, IMS shimmers like a gemstone. It is both an archive and a destination. And when lips meet brickstone in a sweet embrace, the momentous nature of the venue resurfaces.
The Cup Series isn’t exempt from such sentimentality. The Brickyard 400 lives in it, presenting NASCAR’s top flight with a chance to hoist gold atop one of racing’s most venerated venues.
The return to the oval hasn’t scuppered the intrigue, either. Kyle Larson’s conquest of the grounds in 2024 was poetic given his dalliance with the structure during the Indy 500. Who could join him in Brickyard immortality this time around?
With that, The Sporting News gives you the results of qualifying at the 2025 Brickyard 400.

Who won the Brickyard 400 pole for 2025?
Chase Briscoe won pole position for the Brickyard 400 in Saturday’s qualifying. An Indiana native, he’ll start in the lead in his hometown state.
Briscoe’s qualifying time of 49.136 seconds, for an average speed of 183.165 mph, beat out Bubba Wallace’s 49.149 seconds and Erik Jones’ 49.248 seconds.
It’s Briscoe’s fifth pole of the year, and he’s seeking his second win of the season.
“Just being from literally 70 miles down the road, coming here as a kid. … Just dreaming of being able to come to this place,” Briscoe said. “I was dreaming of being on the other side of the fans, so now to be able to do that is unbelievable.”
