NASCAR lineup at COTA: Starting order, pole for EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix based on qualifying results

The Cup Series is going road tripping for the third race of its calendar, swapping the perilousness of plate racing for the winding turns of the road course at Austin’s Circuit of the Americas.

Unsurprisingly, that will necessitate a change of approach from the 37 drivers set to grace COTA’s daunting asphalt. Whereas venues like Daytona, Atlanta, and Talladega revolve around high-speed, depth-defying passes and blocks galore, road courses are all about precision. If you tread too close to the chicane, you might find yourself twirling in a plume of smoke.

The field is filled with drivers who are adept at moving through the field across the 18-turn terrain. Chase Elliott, Ross Chastain, William Byron, and Tyler Reddick have all hoisted gold at the site. All four figure to be in contention for a title on Sunday, too. The same can be said for Trackhouse Racing newcomer Shane van Gisbergen, a three-time champion in Supercars and perhaps NASCAR’s best road course driver.

Who will win out come Sunday? It’s anyone’s guess, really. But one thing is certain: the result of Saturday’s qualifying session will go a long way to answering that question.

With that, here’s what you need to know about the pole-sitter and starting grid for the 2025 EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix.
