NASCAR lineup at Atlanta: Starting order, pole for Quaker State 400 based on qualifying results

Atlanta Motor Speedway plays host to yet another Cup Series contest. More often than not, that brings about fireworks, too.

Last year’s Quaker State 400 was a doozy, with Team Penske star Joey Logano capturing the checkered flag in the first race of the Round of 16. Logano didn’t necessarily look a championship contender during the regular season. But his conquest at Atlanta foreshadowed a starring run in the postseason that culminated in another Cup Series crown, the third of his career.

This year’s iteration of the race takes place in the regular season, not the playoffs. But the results of the joust—and its preceding qualifying session—could loom large in the final standings.

With that, here’s a look at the pole sitter and starting lineup for the 2025 Quaker State 400.

Who won the Quaker State 400 pole for 2025?

Joey Logano took home the pole at the Quaker State 400, posting a 30.979s track time. He and Wood Brothers Racing standout Josh Berry recorded the same top speed and lap time. However, Logano was handed the tiebreaker because of Team Penske’s car owner points advantage.

Team Penske and Wood Brother Racing are affiliates, so the similarity of their performances isn’t entirely unsurprising. The second row consists of a pair of fellow Team Penske standouts in Ryan Blaney and Austin Cindric.

Friday’s showing represented Logano’s first pole of the season. He’s collected 32 over the course of his career.

“Being up front and controlling this race is the name of the game,”Logano said after the session. “If you can get up there and solidify the top position, I feel like you can stay there. The thing is, there are a lot of ‘What ifs?’ that play out in this race, a lot of cautions that may be timed in a different way, where it can jumble up the field.
