
Lions defensive back Morice Norris was taken off the field in an ambulance after taking a knee to his helmet in the fourth quarter vs. Atlanta. The game was suspended with more than six minutes left on the clock and will not be resumed.
Norris has been diagnosed with a neck injury. The incident happened when he was going for a tackle and ended up getting nailed by a Falcons player’s knee.
As the play continued, Norris lay there motionless. Trainers responded, but they quickly signaled for the ambulance after determining that he had a neck injury.

Players were obviously shaken up seeing Norris not moving on the ground and needing an ambulance. Players from both teams circled around where he was being tended to, offering support and prayer. After the ambulance left the field, the teams lined up, and the Falcons took a knee. They forfeited the snap, and all of the players on the field circled up and got another prayer in.

The Lions confirmed that Norris has been transported to a local hospital. Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said in his presser, “our No. 1 concern is about Morice Norris and his family right now.”

Detroit head coach Dan Campbell provided an update after the game, saying that Norris is breathing and talking. He added that the defensive back also has some movement, and they are waiting for more tests.

While not an official update, seeing teammates celebrating online seems at least like a positive step in the right direction. Lions DB Terrion Arnold posted “He’s good all glory to God” on his X account.

An official update from the team on Friday night stated that Norris is in stable condition and that he has movement in all of his extremities.
Morice Norris is in stable condition and has feeling and movement in all his extremities. He will remain at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta overnight for observation.
