Mookie Betts’ toddler steals show with adorable first Dodgers pitch

Mookie Betts’ 2-year-old son, Kaj, stole the show at the Los Angeles Dodgers game against the Athletics earlier this week.

What was supposed to be a memorable moment for Betts and his son at Dodgers Stadium turned into a heartwarming blunder that had everyone laughing.

The May 13 baseball game was a special bobblehead night honoring Betts, and his wife and children were invited onto the field.

Before the game started, Kaj was selected to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

However, when the toddler was thrust into the spotlight, he hilariously tried to bolt from the field.

In the sweet first pitch fail, Kaj – who was sporting his father’s No. 50 jersey – was seen running past his six-year-old sister, Kynlee, before being caught by his mother, Brianna Hammonds.

After the MLB player’s son was placed back into position, he adorably gave his best throw to his World Series champion father.

The Dodgers official X account shared a video of the special moment, writing, “Mookie Betts’ son immediately ran to RF when it was his time to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.”

They added, “HE REALLY TRYING TO BE LIKE POPS!”

Unfortunately, the heartwarming moment didn’t help Betts’ team win the game. The Dodgers lost to the Athletics 11-1.

Mookie went 0-for-3 in the game, although he drove his team’s only run during the disappointing loss.
