MLB Player Props: Picks and Best Bets for Saturday, May 10 Games

We split our MLB player props action on Friday to run our weekly record to 7-4. We took advantage of the thin Denver air by betting against Antonio Senzatela and the league-worst Rockies, and we’re going right back to the well with another Padres bat on Saturday.

MLB Player Prop Picks for May 10

Jackson Merrill Over 2.5 Hits, Runs, and RBI (-140 at Bet365)

Jackson Merrill is the target, as he looks to continue his torrid start to the season. Merrill has been one of the best hitters in baseball, slashing .420/.455/.740 through 13 games. He’s hit safely in all but one of those contests, and enters play with 2+ hits in four consecutive contests.

Last night, he put up a 3-hit effort as San Diego crossed the plate 13 times in Colorado. He’s making hard contact on 54% of his at-bats this season, one of the highest marks in the NL.

Merrill has exceeded 2.5 hits, runs, and RBIs in four straight, and seven of his last eight games, and is an excellent bet to do so again this evening.

Also working in his favor is a pristine matchup against Colorado starter Bradley Blalock and the dreadful Rockies bullpen. Blalock owns an 8.03 ERA so far in 2025, and is yielding a.292/.346/.500 slash line to enemy hitters. He’s coughed up 14 hits and 11 runs in only 12 innings of work, surrendering 9 runs in his last two starts alone.

Cole Ragans Over 7.5 Strikeouts (+105 at Bet365)

Next up, we’re backing the Royals Cole Ragans against the strikeout-happy Red Sox. Boston is fanning at the league’s third-highest rate, averaging nearly 10 strikeouts per contest. Multiple Red Sox hitters are whiffing at a clip north of 30%, while each of their top-seven hitters has a strikeout rate of 20% or worse.

That’s music to the ears of Ragans, who enters play top-five in K’s this season. He’s recorded double-digit strikeouts in four of his past six starts, and the numbers suggest he’s just getting started.

Ragans is producing more swings and misses than ever before. His swinging strike rate is at a career-high 16%, while his called strike rate of 16.2% is also tops in his MLB tenure. His fastball velocity is up from a year ago, and his K/9 mark has never been higher.

The icing on the cake is that he owns the hitters in the Boston lineup. Ragans has held the Red Sox batters to a .182/.286/.345 slash line over 55 at-bats, with a 24% strikeout rate.
