Milwaukee Brewers can’t be stopped, even by Paul Skenes

If anyone could stop the Milwaukee Brewers right now, it’s Paul Skenes, right?

Wrong.

The Brew Crew just kept right on rolling.

The NL Cy Young favorite came to Milwaukee on Tuesday night and had no answer for the team with the best record in baseball.

The Brewers scored four runs in four innings off Skenes, then bashed the Pirates’ bullpen for 10 more runs en route to a 14-0 victory.

Milwaukee led from its very first batter, when little Sal Frelick dropped his bat head on a fastball down and in and yanked it out to right field for a home run leading off the bottom of the first.

Brice Turang added a home run off Skenes in the fourth.

Later in the game, Christian Yelich, Andrew Vaughn and Caleb Durbin all left the yard, too.

The Brewers knocked 15 hits in total. Yelich had three, as did 9-hitter Joey Ortiz. Frelick and William Contreras each added two.

Yelich and Vaughn each drove in three runs. Frelick scored three times.

On the mound, Freddy Peralta threw six scoreless innings while allowing just three hits and striking out seven, and three relievers each threw a scoreless frame apiece.

It’s an 11-game win streak now for the Brewers, their second such streak this season.

At this rate, no one can stop them.
