The Buffalo Bills are looking to start 1-0 with a Week 2 victory over their AFC rivals the New York Jets. Ahead of that, though, Week 2 kicked off with the Green Bay Packers dominating another NFC powerhouse, defeating the Washington Commanders 27-18.
The Packers made waves ahead of the season, trading for star edge rusher Micah Parsons, who has had a massive impact on the outcomes of both games. Parsons spoke after the Packers’ win on Thursday night, and sent a pretty clear message to Buffalo.
“As y’all seen against Baltimore and Buffalo, you could have a quarterback damn near have a perfect game, but still lose because guess what, the defense gave up 40 points,” Parsons said. “Defense wins championships.”
The Bills were a team that many said should have given up the compensation that Green Bay gave up for Parsons, which was two first-round picks and a defensive starter (the Packers traded defensive tackle Kenny Clark). The Bills will have to have a big bounce back week defensively against a Jets team that can run the ball if they want to give fans a little assurance that their defense won’t be a poor unit all year.
