Man Utd told final asking price for Premier League striker

Manchester United are back in the hunt for a forward, and this time the chase has taken them to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have reportedly placed a price tag on Christopher Nkunku — and it’s lower than many expected.

The French striker, who joined Chelsea just two years ago for £52 million, is now available for just £35 million ($47 million), as per reports via The Mirror.

The Red Devils are eyeing reinforcements up front this summer, and Nkunku has made his way onto their radar.

With Chelsea going on another summer shopping spree, the 27-year-old has slipped down the pecking order — and possibly out the door.

Chelsea’s squad is now overflowing with attacking options. Liam Delap has arrived made his Chelsea debut, Joao Pedro has also joined from Brighton, and Jamie Gittens is set to follow from Dortmund.

With all these new signings, something — or rather, someone — has to give.

How Man Utd can take advantage of Chelsea’s financial situation?

The Blues are ready to let Nkunku leave for £35 million, a significant drop from his original transfer fee.

For United, this could be a bargain opportunity. They’re not alone in the market, but the timing and the price may work in their favor.

While Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo remains United’s priority, Nkunku’s availability has kept him firmly in their plans.

There’s also been talk of Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins as a backup target. But Nkunku’s ability to play across the front line gives him a slight edge, especially at this cost.

It’s not all smooth sailing, though. United are also trying to manage their own finances. UEFA’s financial rules loom large over both clubs.

Chelsea have already been fined heavily — over £78 million — for breaching spending limits. A big chunk of that fine is suspended (reducing it down to £27m), but the message is clear: they need to sell.

As a result, swap deals, like the rumored Alejandro Garnacho move, may be off the table for now. Straight sales are the order of the day.

Nkunku, once seen as a game-changer from RB Leipzig, has struggled for consistency at Chelsea. Injuries and limited chances have slowed his momentum. But at 27, he still has time to turn it around — maybe at Old Trafford.

After all, if Chelsea’s attack is too crowded, maybe it’s time for Nkunku to change shirts — and his fortune.
