Man Utd ready to sell loanee in £38m move

Manchester United struggled to offload several outcasts in the summer transfer window, but ended up loaning Rasmus Hojlund, Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho, with Alejandro Garnacho leaving on a permanent move.

Since moving, Hojlund and Rashford have regained their form and been bright spots for Napoli and Barcelona, respectively.

With the January transfer window approaching, United will have to make decisions on any prospective sales or purchases, and the club has reportedly given the green light to sell one player in January.

Which player is United looking to sell in January?

According to the Mirror, United have given the green light to sell Hojlund to Napoli, with the Italian club eager to keep the Dane.

Hojlund left in the summer on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy, and his form has left Napoli impressed and ready to buy the striker in January.

The proposed deal would cost Napoli around £38m, which is a step down from the £72m that United paid for the striker to move from Atalanta.

Hojlund had an abysmal scoring record for United, managing just 14 goals in 62 Premier League appearances.

Since coming to Napoli, Hojlund has scored four goals in six appearances, which has left the Napoli hierarchy feeling optimistic about his potential.

The Danish striker has struck up a good partnership with ex-Manchester City man Kevin de Bruyne.

Hojlund has missed the last few games with an injury, but he is believed to be relishing the opportunity to play first-team football again and has no intention of returning to United.
