Man Utd prepared to take massive loss on £72m star

Manchester United are battling Newcastle for the signature of Benjamin Sesko, who could be the solution to United’s striker woes.

The club has Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee as their main options right now, but United have just put a price tag on Hojlund.

According to BBC Sport, United are willing to sell Hojlund for £30m, just two years into his five year contract.

The deal for Hojlund was made for up to £72m, making his potential sale a staggering loss for United.

United believe they can still make more signings without offloading players, but a deal would ease some financial pressures.

Where could Hojlund end up this summer?

After United’s 4-1 win against Bournemouth, where the Dane scored the opening goal, Hojlund was quick to tell journalists he wanted to stay at United.

However, the striker has been linked with a move away, and United setting an asking price for Hojlund could point to the club being ready to move on.

Multiple Serie A clubs have expressed an interest in Hojlund, including AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Napoli.

RB Leipzig are also admirers of Hojlund, which could play into United’s hands in securing Sesko from the Bundesliga club.

Hojlund transferred to United from Atalanta, and his success in Serie A could give the Dane a reason to move back to the Italian league.
