Man Utd outcast makes transfer decision after two offers

Antony’s time at Manchester United has been anything but smooth.

Once signed with great promise and an £82 million price tag, the Brazilian winger now finds himself training away from the first team and firmly in the “bomb squad.”

But despite his uncertain future, Antony has reportedly made a clear decision — he won’t be heading back to Brazil just yet.

The 25-year-old, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Betis, has rejected two offers from Brazilian clubs.

Both Botafogo and Sao Paulo – the club where he began his career – reached out with interest in a potential deal. However, Antony isn’t ready to return home.

Reports from Brazil  (via Antenados) suggest the winger politely turned down both clubs, apparently stating he does not plan to move back at this stage of his career.

That’s a bold call — especially considering he’s not in Ruben Amorim’s plans and hasn’t featured in Manchester United’s pre-season tour squad.

Why Antony rejected two transfer offers?

Antony is believed to still have his eyes on Europe. Sources claim he wants to stay in a top European league or explore a move to Saudi Arabia.

His agent, Junior Pedroso, recently confirmed: “The player is on the market… He is open to moving to Saudi Arabia. Anything is possible, we are looking for what is best for him.”

While Real Betis remain interested after his solid loan spell — where he scored nine goals — the financial demands are proving tricky.

Meanwhile, United are holding out for a fee close to £30 million and are unwilling to let players go on the cheap.

United manager Ruben Amorim has said he’s open to bringing exiled players back into the squad — but only if no suitable offer arrives. “If they don’t reach that [valuation], they will be Manchester United players, no doubt about that,” he said.

Antony’s story at Old Trafford might not be over just yet. For now, he’s turned down a trip down memory lane and is waiting for his next big move — maybe even one that lands him in the Saudi sunset.
