Man Utd encouraged to make an offer on £60m Bundesliga star

Manchester United are desperate to sign a natural goalscoring striker, but the search has been difficult.

Ruben Amorim has already brought in one attacker in the form of Matheus Cunha, and the club is still keen on Bryan Mbeumo.

United still want to sign an outright No. 9, and Gary Lineker has suggested the club look into signing a star from Borussia Dortmund.

Who did Lineker encourage Man Utd to sign?

Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, Lineker said United should consider signing Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy.

The striker scored 21 goals in 30 matches in the Bundesliga this season, which was his first season with the club. He also scored 13 goals in the Champions League.

Continuing his impressive form into the summer, the Guinea international bagged three goals for Dortmund in the Club World Cup.

Lineker said, “He’s strong, he’s quick – his finishing was really good all season, and he was prolific in the Champions League as well.”

Micah Richards chimed in on Guirassy as well, and said, “I think he’s a top player. When you mention a No. 9, I think he’s one of the best in world football.”

United are lacking a real goalscoring threat, and Rasmus Højlund looks more likely to leave the club than stay. Guirrasy could be just the man United need to improve their attack.

Guirassy’s contract is only a year old, but the £60m release clause could cause some interest in the 29-year-old.
