The club confirmed the appointment, saying ( in official statement): “Manchester United are delighted to confirm the appointment of Darren Fletcher as lead coach of the Under-18s.”
He has already taken charge of preseason training, starting with a camp at adidas HQ in Germany and a friendly against QPR.

Fletcher added, “I am really excited to take on this new role and increase my responsibility to directly develop our young players. While Amorim heads to the U.S. with the senior squad later this month, Fletcher will stay behind to shape the next crop of talent. And who knows? Maybe he’s quietly plotting a tactical comeback of 4-4-2 while he’s at it.
