Manchester United host Manchester City in the 196th Manchester derby, with both teams smarting from tough seasons.
City’s record run of four consecutive Premier League titles will come to an end as they fight a tense battle to secure a top-five spot and UEFA Champions League qualification.
Those are lofty problems compared to United’s, who are almost certain to suffer their worst finish of the Premier League era, languishing as they are in 13th.
Still, United won the Etihad Stadium derby 2-1 in dramatic circumstances last December and Ruben Amorim boasts another win over Pep Guardiola this season from when Sporting CP hammered City 4-1 in the UEFA Champions League.
How much will that count for as City aim to improve their record of eight wins in the past 13 Premier League derbies at Old Trafford? The Sporting News has all the latest team news.

Man United vs. Man City lineups, predicted starting 11, team news
Matthijs de Ligt suffered a knock during United’s 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest on Tuesday and is considered a doubt. After coming on as an auxiliary centre-forward at the City Ground, Harry Maguire might start in a back three also featuring Leny Yoro, whose midweek injury scare is not thought to be serious.
Mason Mount returned to action for the first time since the derby at City against Forest. “He can start, but we have to manage his minutes still,” Amorim said of the England international.
Kobbie Mainoo could be in the matchday squad for the first time since he suffered a muscular injury in an FA Cup tie at Leicester in February.
Defenders Lisandro Martinez, Ayden Heaven, Luke Shaw and Jonny Evans all remain sidelined. Argentina star Martinez is out for the season, alongside December’s derby matchwinner Amad Diallo.
Man United predicted lineup (3-4-2-1, right to left): Onana (GK) — Mazraoui, Maguire, Yoro — Dalot, Ugarte, Casemiro, Dorgu — Fernandes, Garnacho — Hojlund
Injured: Martinez (knee), Diallo (ankle), Heaven (ankle), Shaw (calf), Evans (back), De Ligt (knock, doubt)
Suspended: None
MORE: Why Kevin De Bruyne is Man City’s greatest-ever player
Kevin De Bruyne has announced he will end his stay at Manchester City after 10 trophy-laden seasons when the current campaign ends. The Belgium playmaker has struggled physically amid hamstring and adductor injuries over the past couple of seasons and has not always started the biggest games when available this season.
However, Guardiola could make a slightly sentimental selection and start De Bruyne at Old Trafford to kick off his farewell tour. Jack Grealish started in the No.10 position and opened the scoring in Wednesday’s 2-0 win over struggling Leicester.
If the choice is between De Bruyne and Grealish at No. 10, the likelihood is either of the wide attackers Jeremy Doku or Savinho will make way for hometown hero Phil Foden to start and try to add to his six Manchester derby goals.
Foden’s goal threat would help to offset Erling Haaland‘s ongoing absence, while at the other end of the field, Abdukodir Khusanov is expected to return from a midweek rest. Either Matheus Nunes or breakthrough academy star Nico O’Reilly are expected to fill one of the full-back positions.
Man City predicted lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): Ederson (GK) — Khusanov, Dias, Gvardiol, O’Reilly — Gonzalez, Silva — Foden, De Bruyne, Savinho — Marmoush
Injured: Rodri (ACL), Akanji (adductor), Ake (foot), Stones (thigh), Haaland (ankle)
Suspended: None
