Man United vs. Everton lineups, expected starting 11, confirmed team news, injuries: Fans hope for Bryan Mbeumo debut in Atlanta

Manchester United conclude their preseason tour of the United States on Sunday when they meet Everton at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The Red Devils have enjoyed a productive Premier League Summer Series in 2025, defeating West Ham 2-1 before a 4-1 victory over Bournemouth in Chicago this week. Ruben Amorim will hope to make it three wins from three against an Everton side who lost each of their opening matches in the mini-tournament.

Some youngsters are likely to be given another chance to impress, but United fans will hope to see a new face in action for the first time. Bryan Mbeumo has not yet made an appearance since completing his move from Brentford, but this could be an opportunity for the forward to get some minutes.

David Moyes will want a better performance from his players than they produced in the 3-0 loss to Bournemouth and 2-1 reverse to West Ham. This meeting with his former club will be the Toffees’ last match in the U.S. before they return home to prepare for a friendly with Roma on August 9 at their new home ground, the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

United also return to the UK after this game, with a friendly against Fiorentina to come before they begin their Premier League campaign against Arsenal at Old Trafford on August 16.

Man United lineups, expected starting 11, confirmed team news, injuries

The main question for United is whether Bryan Mbeumo will make his first appearance, either from the start or off the bench. Amorim has been cautious with the forward as his protracted transfer to the club meant he is a little behind his new teammates in terms of fitness levels.

The injury picture for the Red Devils remains the same. Lisandro Martinez won’t be back until later in the year, while Andre Onana and Noussair Mazraoui are still recovering from hamstring issues. Joshua Zirkzee has what he described as a “minor” injury, and he is targeting a return in time for the start of the season. Harry Maguire went off as a precaution against Bournemouth and will probably not be risked from the start here.

Amorim will likely go with a strong side from the outset, but expect more minutes for Diego Leon, Tyler Fredricson and Ethan Williams, who scored against Bournemouth.

Man United predicted lineup (3-4-2-1, right to left): Bayindir (GK) — Yoro, De Ligt, Heaven — Dalot, Ugarte, Fernandes, Dorgu — Amad, Cunha — Hojlund

Injured: Martinez (knee), Onana (hamstring), Zirkzee (knock), Mazraoui (hamstring), Maguire (knock, doubt)
Suspended: None

New signing Adam Aznou will likely not be involved so soon after arriving from Bayern Munich, but Thierno Barry could get his first start for the Toffees.

James Tarkowski could come into a three-man central defensive unit, while Jordan Pickford could return after Mark Travers played against West Ham.

Everton predicted lineup (3-4-2-1, right to left): Pickford (GK) — O’Brien, Tarkowski, Keane — Patterson, Gueye, Garner, McNeil — Alcaraz, Ndiaye — Barry

Injured: Coleman (thigh), Branthwaite (hamstring)
Suspended: None
