Man United identify long-term replacement for Harry Maguire

Manchester United have made a couple of new additions to their squad this summer, with rumors of more to come ahead of the upcoming season.

While it appears that the Red Devils are building an efficient squad to ensure better results in the 2025/26 campaign, Man United have reportedly identified a potential replacement for Harry Maguire.

Maguire arrived at Old Trafford from Leicester City in 2019, and the 32-year-old star has now entered the final year of his current contract at Man United.

Man United are reportedly in search of a long-term replacement for Maguire and have found Eivind Helland to fit the bill, according to the Daily Mail.

Who is Manchester United’s transfer interest, Eivind Helland?

Helland is a Norwegian defender who plays for his boyhood club Brann, which competes in Eliteserien.

Reports have suggested that Man United sent scouts to observe the 20-year-old’s efforts on the pitch in his side’s match against Viking Stavanger last month.

The young talent, who has brought in much praise and appreciation, captained Norway’s Under-21s to a 4-0 victory against Wales in June. His skills have also attracted attention from several prominent clubs in the ongoing transfer window.

Man United’s reported pursuit of acquiring Helland’s signature does not appear to be a smooth one, considering that many clubs have the player on their transfer list.

After the Red Devils, Bayern Munich also reportedly sent scouts to monitor Helland, who is also wanted by Borussia Dortmund and Red Bull Salzburg.
