Manchester United have been proactive in the summer transfer window as they have made a couple of major signings to improve their roster after an abysmal campaign.
They have secured the services of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to improve their frontline, which was a major issue last season.
However, United haven’t yet zeroed in on any striker, and as per reports via CaughtOffside, they have added Aleksandar Mitrovic to their striker’s shortlist.
The Serbian forward has been in exceptional form for Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League last season, where he has netted 28 goals and provided seven assists.
Ruben Amorim reportedly wants a senior striker who can handle the pressure to join the team, unlike Rasmus Hojlund.
Several reports suggest that United chiefs are in favour of signing RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, but Amorim may not be keen on signing another youngster up front.

The Red Devils are also in talks with Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins, who comes with Premier League experience and could be a great addition at Old Trafford.
According to reports, Al Hilal earlier wanted at least £40m for the 30-year-old Serbian forward, but now they have dropped their asking price to €30m (£26m).
The price drop has also attracted interest from Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur as they are also in search of a reliable striker this summer.
Why are Man United interested in Mitrovic?
Ahead of United’s preseason fixture against West Ham United, Amorim hinted that the club may not sign any striker this summer as he highlighted how Mbuemo and Cunha are also capable of leading the lines for the Red Devils.
However, recent reports have suggested that United may push for a striker, and they are aiming for an experienced striker at a viable transfer fee.
Mitrovic fits the bill perfectly, considering his prior stints with Fulham and Newcastle United.
The Serbian has featured in 128 Premier League matches, registering 38 goals and 11 assists.
He failed to live up to the lofty expectations at Newcastle, but he was Fulham’s talisman, scoring 111 goals in 206 appearances for the Cottagers.
His best return happened in the 2021/22 season in the Championship when he hammered 43 goals in 44 league games, firing Fulham to the title as they gained Premier League promotion.
He moved to Saudi Arabia in 2023 and has been an instant success for Al Hilal, registering 68 goals in 79 outings for the Saudi Pro League outfit.
Mitrovic has guided Al Hilal to a solitary Saudi Cup and a couple of Saudi Super Cup honours in his two seasons in Saudi Arabia.
He is reportedly open to a return to the Premier League as several clubs in England are interested in the experienced Serbian striker.
