Following a torrid few seasons, Manchester United will be hoping for a fruitful summer, and a successful summer largely relies on United signing several new players.
With the transfer window approaching, several reports have surfaced linking Man United to the many top players, suggesting big changes are planned at Old Trafford this summer.
And now it seems the Red Devils are on the hunt for a new goalkeeper as a potential replacement for Andre Onana. The Cameroonian shot-stopper arrived at Old Trafford from Inter Milan in 2023, for a reported fee of £47 million.
Onana has often, and arguably deservedly, been on the receiving end of criticism during his time at Man United for his errors on the pitch, with the most recent being in their 2-2 draw in the Europa League quarter-final against Lyon. His performances have led to uncertainties about his future at the Red Devils.
Onana has managed to keep 10 clean sheets while conceding 56 goals in 43 matches across competitions for Man United.

Who is Manchester United’s potential replacement for Andre Onana?
Man United have identified Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia as their potential replacement for Onana, according to FootballTransfers. The 23-year-old has attracted attention with his skills guarding the net for the La Liga club, contributing to six clean sheets in 30 matches.
Espanyol have previously been firm on not being willing to part ways with the Spanish goalkeeper unless the offer matched his release clause.
However, Man United are not expected to have it easy to acquire Garcia’s signature as other Premier League giants have their eyes set on the Spaniard for a while now.
Competition to sign Andre Onana’s potential replacement
Along with Man United, Arsenal are also reportedly keen on signing Garcia this summer. The Gunners have been long-term admirers of the star now, making a €20 million offer for him last year.
Arsenal’s interest in Garcia surfaced following Aaron Ramsdale’s loan departure from the Emirates to join Southampton. However, the deal did not pan out as Espanyol refused to budge from the set €30 million release clause for the goalkeeper.
The Gunners continue to pursue Garcia and are expected to make a move for him again this summer, making things tougher for Man United. The Red Devils are yet to make an official approach for the La Liga star and probably have to outbid Arsenal to seal the deal.
