While Ederson’s assist added to City’s overall points and his own record, the 31-year-old limped off the pitch in the 71st minute with the extent of his injury and his expected return date unknown.
Ederson racked up nine clean sheets and conceded 47 goals in 33 appearances across competitions for City this season.

Ederson has now provided seven assists for City in the Premier League, adding one to his own leading record as the keeper with the most in EPL history.
The Benfica graduate seized the record after registering an assist in City’s league clash against Newcastle United in February, taking his total assists to six in 267 matches. He surpassed Paul Robinson, who had provided five in 375 games.
Others behind Ederson and Robinson on the list are Pepe Reina and David Seaman with four assists each, while Alisson, Tim Howard, Jussi Jaaskelainen, Mark Crossley, and Peter Schmeichel have three.
Ederson has provided a total of four assists this season, which puts him behind Savinho (eight) and De Bruyne (seven) and alongside Doku, Gundogan, Silva, and Nunes.
Ederson’s count of assists this season is equal to the third-best assist tallies of all-time by goalkeepers combined in the Premier League. Along with the Brazilian, Bart Verbruggen, Mark Flekken, Bernd Leno and Jordan Pickford are the other shot-stoppers who have provided one assist each this campaign.
