Pep Guardiola endured a tough 2024/25 campaign, finishing third in the Premier League title race, and without a trophy across all competitions.
The Catalan coach has responded with a squad refresh over the summer on the back of veteran duo Kyle Walker and Kevin De Bruyne both moving on.
Guardiola was brushed aside by old foes Real Madrid in the Round of 16 playoffs last season after finishing 22nd in the league phase table
City ended their long wait for a first-ever UCL crown in 2023, as part of a historic trophy treble for Guardiola, with victory over Inter Milan in the final.

Man City Champions League first phase opponents
The league phase draw was held on Aug. 28, 2025 with Man City’s first eight games now confirmed.
As per the updated format – now into it’s second season – Guardiola’s charges will play eight games against eight different opponents with four matches at home and four away.
The top eight sides in the overall league phase will qualify directly for the Round of 16 knockouts, with teams placed 9th to 24th entering the playoffs.
