Man City star close to signing contract extension

Manchester City and Pep Guardiola have a massive squad after their big summer moves.

The club has added Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait Nouri, Tijjani Reijnders, and, most recently, James Trafford.

The City heirarchy is also working to extend the contract of one of his most important defenders.

Who is close to signing a contract extension at Man City?

According to David Ornstein, Ruben Dias has agreed in principle to a contract extension at the Mancunian club.

Dias’ current contract is set to expire in June 2027, but his new deal will keep the Portuguese defender at the club long-term.

Dias has been an important presence in the back, making over 200 appearances since joining the club in 2020.

City have a number of players whose contracts will be expiring soon, with Phil Foden and Rodri’s contracts also out in 2027.

The club will be keen to extend both players, as well, with both playing important roles under Guardiola.

Along with Dias, Erling Haaland recently signed a long-term deal to keen the Norwegian international at the club until 2034.
