Manchester City suffered a 1-0 loss against Aston Villa in their last Premier League clash on October 26 at Villa Park.
With this loss, Man City’s five-match undefeated streak came to an end, and they are currently fifth in the top flight with 16 points in nine matches.
Being six points behind table-toppers Arsenal, Man City would be hoping for success in their upcoming league games, and now it appears that there’s some good news for the Cityzens right on time.
Man City’s key midfielder Rodri has returned to full first-team training with Man City ahead of their fourth round clash of the EFL Cup against Swansea City on October 29.
Rodri has been out of action for the last three-and-a-half weeks after picking up a hamstring injury in Man City’s 1-0 win against Brentford prior to the October international break.
The 2024 Ballon d’Or winner ruptured his ACL in September last year and was sidelined for the better part of the previous campaign. He has since suffered several setbacks amid struggles with his fitness.

What did Man City boss Pep Guardiola say about Rodri?
During his pre-match press conference, Pep Guardiola provided updates on his players, and while speaking about Rodri, the Catalan manager mentioned that the Spaniard ‘is not ready’ yet and said,
“(Rodri) still is not ready. Getting better, training with us partially but of course, after what happened two times with his muscular injuries, we’re going to see how he evolves this week, I would say,” as per City Xtra.
When asked if Guardiola could provide an estimated date of Rodri’s return, the 54-year-old coach replied,
“No, hopefully soon but not yet.”
Following the upcoming EFL Cup clash, Guardiola’s side are pitted against second-place Bournemouth in their next Premier League clash on November 2 at Etihad Stadium.
Man City are then set to host Borussia Dortmund in their fourth Champions League match of the season on November 5.
With these crucial games lined up, Man City will be hoping for a speedy recovery for Rodri.
