Mamelodi Sundowns will face some of the grandest clubs in the world when they compete at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
The South African giants qualified as one of the best-ranked club sides in Africa during the period from 2021 to 2024, their status bolstered by having won the 2021 CAF Champions League.
Although realistically not considered contenders to win the trophy at the new, expanded tournament, Miguel Cardoso and his players will have their sights set on attempting to reach the knockout phase.
After making their competition debut in 2016 — becoming the first South African club to play in the Club World Cup in the process — they will now hope to take further strides on the world stage.

When does the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 start?
The FIFA Club World Cup takes place in the summer of 2025 in the United States, with the group stage to begin on June 14, 2025, with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami playing Al Ahly in the opening match at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.
The tournament will progress for the subsequent month, with the top two teams from the eight groups of four progressing to the knockout stage and the Round of 16. The final will take place on July 13, 2025 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Where will Mamelodi Sundowns play their 2025 Club World Cup games?
Group Stage
Mamelodi Sundowns’ opening game will be against Ulsan HD at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
Their match with Borussia Dortmund is at Cincinnati’s TQL Stadium, and they return to Florida for their final group game against Fluminense at Hard Rock Stadium, Miami.
Knockout Stage
It will be a major surprise if Mamelodi Sundowns can come through such a difficult group, but if they manage to finish top, they will face the runners-up of Group E at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the Round of 16 on July 1. A quarterfinal at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium would then await the winners.
Should they qualify as runners-up, they will face the winners of Group E at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on June 30, with a possible quarterfinal at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium four days later.
Both semifinals and final take place at MetLife Stadium.
