The basketball community was stunned when Luka Dončić was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.
In what was might be the biggest trade in the league’s history, it left people without a reaction.
This includes Dončić’s former coach with the Dallas Mavericks, Jason Kidd.
According to a report by James L. Edwards III of The Athletic, Kidd had a certain opinion on being the spokesperson for Dončić when he was traded.
“Kidd didn’t always enjoy being Dallas’ spokesperson in the aftermath of the franchise trading Luka Dončić.”
“In a Feb. 10 game against the Kings, Mavericks center Daniel Gafford got hurt. In the middle of the injury crisis, multiple fans were also ejected for protesting the Dončić trade. Kidd didn’t address the media afterward,” Edwards said Monday.

Kidd has been the Head Coach of the Mavericks for four seasons and led the team to the finals just a season ago.
Now, Kidd might be on the move to fill a spot somewhere else, and it will likely be with the New York Knicks.
There seems to be mutual interest with the two, and the long-time player now turned coach must seek permission to interview with the franchise.
It is understandable that Kidd did not want to interact with the media following the blockbuster trade, as he was as shocked as everyone else.
Could there be bad blood between the two, or is it as simple as not wanting to get caught up in the drama of a league-changing move?
