Liverpool winger Luis Diaz has broken his silence after Barcelona’s recent approach to sign him was shut down by the Premier League club.
Currently on international duty with Colombia, Diaz confirmed in a press conference that he was in talks with other clubs but reiterated his happiness at Anfield.
“I’m very happy at Liverpool. They’ve treated me well since the first day.” He said.
“We’re talking with other clubs. It’s the transfer window; it’s normal. If Liverpool renews my contract, or if I have to stay the 2 years I have left, I’ll be happy. It’s up to them.”

Diaz joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 and has a contract until 2027. Despite rumors, no formal contract extension talks have progressed, as confirmed by The Athletic.
Barcelona made direct contact with Liverpool on Wednesday, but the club told sporting director Deco that Diaz is not for sale.

Slot plans with Diaz; Liverpool firm on stance
Liverpool manager Arne Slot considers Diaz a key part of his squad for the 2025–26 season. The Colombian played both as a left winger and central forward last season, scoring 17 goals across all competitions.
Despite reported past interest from Manchester City and Saudi clubs, Liverpool has no plans to sell unless a major offer arrives. The Reds are willing to let Diaz run down the final two years of his deal rather than sell for a discount.
