Liverpool reveals Luis Diaz asking price after Bayern Munich’s latest bid

Bayern Munich made their first official move to sign Luis Diaz this week by submitting a €67.5 million [$78m] bid to Liverpool but the Premier League champions did not take long to say no.

The German giants are looking to rebuild their wide attacking options after recent exits, and they have identified Diaz as their primary target for that role due to his pace, pressing and goal threat.

Diaz, who turned 28 this year fits their profile perfectly as a player who can immediately raise the level of their attack on the left flank.

But Liverpool, who just won the league under new manager Arne Slot, quickly rejected the offer without entertaining talks.

Liverpool rejects the bid

According to sources, including The Athletic, Liverpool told Bayern they would only look at bids well above €100 million [$116m], which represents both the club’s internal valuation and their position that Diaz is central to their plans for next season.

Luis Diaz was one of Liverpool’s best performers last season, scoring 17 goals in all competitions and playing a vital role in their Premier League title triumph and this is why even though the Colombian has made it known he wants to depart this summer, Liverpool are not exactly in a hurry to open the door.
