Liverpool learn asking price for long-term transfer target Anthony Gordon

Liverpool have wasted no time building on their Premier League title under Arne Slot, with six new signings already in place and more expected before the summer window closes.

The club has brought in Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Armin Pecsi, Freddie Woodman and Giorgi Mamardashvili to strengthen key areas across the pitch.

Talks are progressing with Crystal Palace over defender Marc Guehi after Ibrahima Konate made it clear that he won’t sign a new contract, and the club is also exploring attacking options as Darwin Nunez edges closer to an exit.

Liverpool are keen on Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak as a potential replacement and while Bayern Munich have reportedly submitted a bid for Luis Diaz, the Reds have no plans to let the Colombian leave.

In any case, Liverpool are now turning their attention to another potential signing from Newcastle United.

Newcastle tells Liverpool Gordon price

According to the Football Insider, Newcastle have set a £100 million [$135m] valuation on Anthony Gordon who joined the club from Everton in January 2023 for £40 million [$54m].

While Newcastle are not actively looking to sell the winger, reports suggest Gordon remains open to a move to Anfield despite signing a new long-term deal in October that runs until 2030.

The Reds have kept tabs on Gordon’s progress and are aware Newcastle have finalized a deal for Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga and remain in talks with Manchester City’s Jack Grealish.

If both arrive, it could push Gordon down the pecking order.
