Federico Chiesa, who looked destined to leave Anfield earlier this summer, has now reportedly decided he wants to stay.
The Italian forward was linked with a return to Serie A after a tough first season in England. He struggled with injuries, limited minutes, and even missed the pre-season tour.
For weeks, it felt like the end of his Liverpool chapter before it had really started.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says Chiesa and his agent have informed Liverpool of their “clear desire” to stay. Earlier in June, the winger was ready to go, frustrated by the lack of chances and left out of key games.

But with Luis Diaz leaving for Bayern Munich, space has opened up in the forward line. Chiesa now sees an opportunity to fight for his place rather than run for the exit.
Speaking after his heroics against Bournemouth, the Italian said: “I’m very happy at Liverpool! I will speak to the club but I want to stay here and fight to win many trophies.”
He added with a smile: “It took me one year to score in the Premier League but as we say in Italian: Better late than never.”
Arne Slot also hinted that Chiesa’s commitment has not gone unnoticed. The Liverpool boss praised the fans’ connection with the player, noting that Anfield quickly embraced his energy and history.
The road ahead may not be simple. Liverpool continue to chase another striker, with Alexander Isak reportedly their top target.
