Liverpool are facing a potential summer exodus from their squad despite an incoming potential Premier League title win in 2024/25.
Arne Slot has led his team to the brink of a superb EPL crown inside his first year at Anfield and they return from the international break with a 12-point lead at the top of the rankings.
However, with the title getting closer to being ticked off, Slot now has some important decisions to make ahead of next season.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are all expected to wait until May – or potentially June – to confirm their future intentions with the trio out of contract this summer.
Slot will not dip into the transfer market until he knows who is remaining on Merseyside but reports from Football Insider indicate Van Dijk’s decision will have a major impact on Real Madrid target Ibrahima Konate.
Ibrahima Konate’s Liverpool contract, transfer value
Konate’s current contract at Anfield expires in June 2026 and his representatives have been in talks over a renewal since the end of 2024.
However, with no progress made on agreeable terms with the former RB Leipzig center back, Liverpool now have a decision to make.

This summer could be the final chance to secure a transfer fee, with interested parties expected to wait for a free transfer in 2026, if he opts against. The latest update claims Real Madrid and PSG are both on red alert over Konate’s status with the former open to pairing him with Alexander-Arnold in Madrid in 2025.
Van Dijk’s decision is also important, as if the Dutchman stays, Liverpool could be open a sale – but if he moves on, Konate is the senior central defender left in Slot’s squad.
With the pressure on, Liverpool are hopeful of securing a fee of around £50m [$65m], if Real Madrid make a bid – but their first preference is to retain Konate.
After playing a rotating role under Jurgen Klopp last season, Konate is now first choice for Slot, with 22 EPL starts from 29 alongside the ever-present Van Dijk.
