Liverpool fans are preparing for Trent Alexander-Arnold’s exit this summer.
The homegrown hero sees his Anfield contract end in June – with no update on extension – as Real Madrid chase the England international.
As part of a crucial few days in the long-running saga, a breakthrough has been made, with multiple outlets claiming Alexander-Arnold has reached an agreement with Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Real Madrid contract
According to talkSPORT, Alexander-Arnold has agreed a five-year deal with the Spanish giants, reportedly worth more than £220,000 [$285,000] per week.
That represents a significant wage increase compared to his current deal at Liverpool but his current side could still be due a transfer fee.
The small print in Alexander-Arnold’s present contract could still prove vital.

Trent Alexander-Arnold Real Madrid transfer fee
Liverpool reportedly rejected two transfer offers from Real Madrid in January as they wanted to retain their right-back for the remainder of the season.
That ensured Liverpool would not bring in a formal transfer fee as the 26-year-old’s contract officially runs out on June 30.
However, there could still be a window for Liverpool to request financial compensation, if Real Madrid want to speed up the deal.
As per reports from the Daily Mail, Ancelotti wants to include Alexander-Arnold in his FIFA Club World Cup squad with the competition starting in North America on June 14.
Current FIFA rules allow competing clubs a window from June 1-10 to add new players to their squads or extend the deals of current players.
As Alexander-Arnold’s deal runs beyond deadline, Liverpool now have two options, as they look to finalise the club’s position.
Liverpool could in theory demand a ‘transfer fee’ for the defender to join Real Madrid, as he remains under contract on Merseyside in June, but the more likely option is a financial settlement over the final weeks of his agreement which could be in the region of £1m [$1.3m].
