Jeremie Frimpong is set to miss up to six weeks with a hamstring injury sustained during Liverpool’s 5-1 Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt last week.
Reds boss Arne Slot revealed immediately after the match on Wednesday (October 22) that Frimpong was “not in a good place” when he was forced off.
The Daily Mail has since confirmed an estimated six-week absence, though it is a relief for Liverpool that surgery will not be required.
Big blow for Liverpool
Frimpong’s injury comes at a difficult time for Liverpool, who have lost four straight Premier League matches and six of their last seven across all competitions, including a humiliating 3-0 EFL Cup loss to Crystal Palace on Wednesday (October 29).

The Dutch international has already endured a disrupted start to life on Merseyside, suffering a previous hamstring injury in August that sidelined him for several weeks.
Having already missed a week with his current injury, Frimpong may require another five weeks before returning to training, with a potential comeback targeted for mid-December.
His longer-term injury compounds matters heavily for Slot now, who is already having to contend with an injury-ridden squad.
Deputy right-back Conor Bradley has also struggled with fitness this season, while a long-term injury to Giovanni Leoni has left Liverpool with just three fit senior centre-backs in Virgil Van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, and Joe Gomez.

Bradley remains the preferred option to cover at right-back but will likely share minutes with Dominik Szoboszlai, who previously deputised in defence during Frimpong’s first injury spell.
Liverpool’s injury woes extend to the attack as well, with summer signing Alexander Isak sidelined by a groin problem, adding further pressure on Slot to rotate and manage his squad effectively during a tough run of upcoming fixtures.
Liverpool face Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday (November 1) before hosting Real Madrid in the Champions League, and rounding off the run with a trip to the Etihad to face Manchester City.
