The Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders will square off at Ford Field on Saturday night for a divisional round contest that will determine who moves on to the NFC Championship Game next week. The winner will face either the Los Angeles Rams or Philadelphia Eagles.
The Lions coming into this game off a first-round bye after they secured the No. 1 seed in the NFC during a regular season that saw them post a franchise-best 15-2 record.
Washington turned the page to a new chapter in 2024 with a new head coach, general manager and quarterback and were not expected to make it this far. However, thanks to the sensational rookie campaign from quarterback Jayden Daniels, the Commanders are in position to make it to the conference title game.
The Commanders went 12-5 during the regular season and secured the No. 6 seed in the conference. They notched a 23-20 victory over the No. 3 seed, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in the wild-card game to set up this showdown with the Lions.
