Here’s how Larry Lange of the AP reported it:

“Detroit Lions safety Morice Norris was at the team’s training facility with teammates on Sunday, two days after he was taken off the field in an ambulance late in a preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons, according to a person familiar with the situation. The person, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to share the details, said Norris was released from an Atlanta hospital and returned home on Saturday.”

Norris had shared an Instagram post on Saturday in which he wrote, “I’m all good man don’t stress.”

He was down on the field in Atlanta for about 20 minutes after his head and neck area made contact with a ball carrier’s knee on a tackle attempt.

He was then taken to a hospital in Atlanta, where he was reported in stable condition.

The Lions and Falcons did not complete their preseason game after the injury.

Norris already being back at the facility is a remarkable development in this story that looked for a time like it could be much worse.
