The Detroit Lions will look to get back in the win column in Week 16, as the team will travel to Soldier Field to square off against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. Detroit suffered a frustrating 48-42 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 15, as the Lions failed to contain the Bills’ potent offense and didn’t do enough on offense early in the game to keep up with Buffalo.
Though Detroit’s loss to the Bills last week ended the team’s 11-game winning streak and weakened their lead in the NFC North, Dan Campbell’s squad is still having a terrific 2024 campaign, boasting a 12-2 record and the No.1 seed in the NFC through 15 weeks.
Despite winning 11 of their last 12 games, some panic has arisen in Detroit due to the absurd amount of injuries. The Lions currently have 21 players on injured reserve, and 31.8% of the team’s Week 1 starters are either on IR or out, which is tied with the Las Vegas Raiders for the highest percentage in the NFL.

Though Detroit’s Week 15 defeat to Buffalo and the unfortunate injuries have clouded the Lions’ impressive play this season, rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold had to remind fans just how good the franchise has been in 2024.
Arnold posted a video to his TikTok page on Friday with the caption, “When y’all lose one game and everybody forget who y’all are,” referring to the Lions’ Week 15 loss and the concerns surrounding the team. The 2024 first-round pick seems to be annoyed with the doubters writing Detroit off after a narrow loss last week.

Though the Lions have been hit by the injury bug and fell flat in the biggest game of the year versus the Bills in Week 15, there should be little concern heading into the final three games of the regular season. Dan Campbell has built a culture centered around grit and perseverance in Detroit, and the Lions are still in a fantastic position to win the NFC North and capture the No.1 seed in the conference.
As for Arnold, the rookie out of Alabama will be thrust into the CB1 position for the foreseeable future, as Carlton Davis suffered a jaw injury last week and may not return to the lineup this season, per Dan Campbell. Arnold has totaled eight passes defended and a 61.3% completion rate when targeted in 544 coverage snaps this year.
