Arsenal have enjoyed a sensational transfer window with a list of statement signings after finishing second in the Premier League last season.
The Gunners have brought reinforcements in all departments, from defence to attack, but it looks like they are in no mood to end their transfer business just yet.
As per reports, Arsenal are pushing to secure the signature of Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet, who is considered as one of the brightest young defenders to come out of French football in recent years.
Mikel Arteta is a big admirer of the youngster and feels he can bolster Arsenal’s backline for years to come.
Some fans believe securing Jacquet would be perfect for Arsenal, even if they lose William Saliba in the next couple of seasons, amid constant links to Real Madrid.
However, as per Foot Mercato, Jacquet has snubbed a move, as he looks to continue his development in France.

The 20-year-old centre-back signed a new contract with Rennes earlier this summer, which keeps him at the club until 2029, therefore securing him this summer looks tough for any interested club.
Who is Arsenal target Jeremy Jacquet?
Hailed as a top young defensive talent in Ligue 1, Jacquet moved to Ligue 2 outfit Clermont on loan to gain some minutes last season.
Very few CBs have a season with 4+ completed long passes and 4+ tkl+int p90 as a teenager.
Hitting those marks generally indicates a high athletic baseline and advanced ball playing for their age.

But, he was recalled midway through the campaign and became a regular starter at Rennes as part of Habib Beye’s three-man and four-man defensive setups.
The France U21 is happy at Rennes and is not openly looking to leave.
“I’m very happy to extend my contract with my club,” Jacquet stated.
“The season went by very quickly, I played quickly after my return from loan in the winter and I think I played some good games. The aim is to get back to work and achieve better results next season.”
Rennes director Loic Desire reiterated the 20-year-old’s remarks and highlighted his importance to the setup.
“Jeremy perfectly embodies the club’s desire to build its project around players produced here.
“He was present at the Gambardella final this weekend, proof of his attachment to the Rouge et Noir academy.
“He has great qualities, particularly athleticism, and exudes a great deal of confidence and strength for his age. We hope he will go very far and continue to progress with Rennes.”
Apart from Arsenal, several other Premier League clubs have reportedly shown interest in the young Frenchman.
