As we head into the final few games of the 2024-25 Premier League season, Chelsea still has a lot to play for. They find themselves in fifth place in the Premier League table, and their chances of qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League hang by a thread.
Additionally, the Blues have made it to the semifinal of the UEFA Conference League as well. However, regardless of how things go from here, the club is set for a big summer transfer window as the Blues look to strengthen several positions in the squad.
Enzo Maresca’s team are said to be in the market for a striker, and Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
However, according to a report in ChronicleLive, Chelsea could be put off by the Englishman’s staggering wage demands.
The striker could be available in the market for a cut-price £30m as part of his relegation release clause.
But the report claims that he is demanding wages in the range of £120,000 to £150,000 per week.

This would be a significant pay rise for the attacker, who, according to Capology, is earning £20,000 per week at Ipswich.
Why Delap’s wage demands could be a stumbling block in his move to Chelsea
Since Todd Bohley secured ownership of Chelsea, the club has been on a mission to bring down their wage bill.
In this scenario, it is unlikely that Delap would get the kind of wages that he has reportedly been demanding at Chelsea.
Truth be told, though Delap has been linked to several Premier League clubs, very few of them would be able to afford the kind of wages he is seeking.
