The New England Patriots have the No.4 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. However, they could be convinced to trade the pick in exchange for a superstar to change their offense.
The Philadelphia Eagles lost Josh Sweat and Brandon Graham this offseason. Both players were key in their Super Bowl victory, and the team could be willing to make a blockbuster trade to keep their defensive line elite. Sleeper’s Carlos A. Lopez revealed that a source believes that the Eagles would be willing to trade A.J. Brown in a package to move up to No.4 in the draft, if Abdul Carter is available.
Lopez proposed this deal between the two teams:
- Patriots receive: A.J. Brown, 32nd overall pick and 2026 second-round pick
- Eagles receive: No.4 overall pick
The Eagles would have to send a haul to the Patriots to move up from the last pick in round one all the way up to No.4. However, Carter has the makings of a player who would be worth it. While A.J. Brown is a great player for the Eagles, their offense is now centered around Saquon Barkley.

Brown is a three-time Pro Bowler and signed a $96 million extension with the Eagles recently. He will not be a free agent until 2030. If the Eagles want Carter, the Patriots would be the ideal trade partner. Mike Vrabel coached Brown with the Tennessee Titans and the two seemingly have a strong relationship.
Passing on Carter would be a tough decision for the Patriots, but Brown fills a huge need for the team. The Patriots signed Stefon Diggs, but pairing him with Brown would give Drake Maye one of the best duos in the league. Brwon even jokingly made fans think he was traded to the Patriots in a video he posted on social media.
