Las Vegas Raiders have one of the top 2026 NFL free agents, analyst says

Barring a change in his contract situation, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers is going to be a free agent in 2026.

Meyers is looking for a contract extension, but he and the Raiders haven’t been able to come to an agreement. As a result, Meyers has requested a trade, but Las Vegas isn’t likely to deal him because of how important he is to the offense in 2025.

If he does hit the free-agent market next year, Bucky Brooks of NFL.com believes Meyers will be one of the most coveted players.

Brooks ranked Meyers at No. 17 on his list of the top 25 free agents for 2026, and he’s No. 5 among wide receivers, falling behind the Dallas Cowboys’ George Pickens, the New Orleans Saints’ Rashid Shaheed, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Mike Evans and the Indianapolis Colts’ Alec Pierce.

“Meyers wanted a raise from the Raiders and then requested a trade when he didn’t get it,” he wrote. “He’s rare as a No. 2/3 receiver who has shown he can fit in any style of offense.”

Meyers should be higher on this list. After all, he’s more proven than Shaheed and Pierce after four 800-yard seasons in a row and doesn’t bring the potential for issues that Pickens’ historically bad attitude does.

The biggest concern for Meyers is his age, as he’ll turn 30 next year. That could leave teams more hesitant to offer Meyers a long-term deal than they otherwise would be.

That said, there hasn’t been any sign that Meyers is even close to slowing down and he’s in a great position to earn a sizeable raise in 2026 given the fact that he’s the top wide receiver in Las Vegas and the No. 2 pass-catcher overall behind Brock Bowers, which should lead to strong production.

Meyers’ next contract should be north of $20 million annually, assuming he doesn’t see a drop-off in production in 2025. The Raiders are well-equipped to afford that, with the team projected to have $95.6 million in cap space in 2026.
