Lamine Yamal speaks out: Will he leave Barcelona for PSG or Man City?

Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal has finally addressed his future amid reports that Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are ready to go to extreme lengths to sign him.

Despite the rumors of huge offers, Yamal has made his stance clear — his heart belongs to Barcelona.

At just 17 years old, Yamal has taken the football world by storm. His stunning performances have caught the eyes of top European clubs, with reports suggesting PSG even made a jaw-dropping €250 million bid for him last summer.

City, too, are said to be “willing to do crazy things” to bring him to England.

What Lamine Yamal said?

When asked about the interest from these football giants, Yamal remained calm and focused.

Speaking to Marca, he said, “I don’t really think about that. I only think about Barca, improving, and winning titles here.” He added that his dream is to help Barcelona lift the Champions League trophy once again.

Yamal’s loyalty is no surprise. A graduate of La Masia, Barcelona’s famous academy, he broke into the first team under Xavi Hernandez during the 2022-23 season.

Since then, he has become a regular starter and one of the club’s most important players.

To protect their star, Barcelona extended Yamal’s contract until 2026 last year. The deal included a staggering €1 billion release clause to fend off any potential suitors.

Barcelona fans can breathe easy, at least for now. With his agent Jorge Mendes confirming the club’s commitment, Yamal is expected to sign a new deal when he turns 18 in July 2025.
