Lamar Jackson reveals sudden injury that crushed Ravens’ chances vs. Bills

Many are still trying to process how the Baltimore Ravens lost 41-40 to the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium, and why the offense, when facing a fourth-and-three, chose to punt the ball back to Josh Allen with a chance to go win the game.

Since Sunday night, it has been one of the most talked-about what-ifs in the media space, and Lamar Jackson revealed post-game that he was cramping at the time, hence the decision to punt.

But now, we have a little more information about Lamar’s cramp, and the two-time MVP winner has revealed that he actually started suffering from cramp on the drive that saw Derrick Henry fumble the football.

“I was actually cramping the drive before,” Jackson said. “The turnover happened, but I went to the sidelines. I was drinking pickle juice on the sideline already. I need to get hydrated, I’m cramping. Then fourth-and-three happened, but if I wasn’t cramping, we definitely would have went for it, I believe.”

Could Lamar Jackson have played through cramp?

This is what most are asking themselves, and for anyone who has suffered from bad cramps, it isn’t exactly the best feeling in the world. Whatever part of your body is cramping, it can lock up, making it difficult to

The Ravens still had a timeout, too, so in hindsight, head coach John Harbaugh could have called a timeout to allow Jackson a little more time to recover, but it’s easy to say that now.

Given how easily the Ravens were moving the ball on offense, there is a real chance that Lamar would have picked up the first down and then salted away the remaining time on the clock to secure the win, but we will never know.

Hopefully, we don’t look back in 17 weeks and see this as the game that stopped the Ravens from getting the No. 1 seed in the AFC…and all because of cramps.
