For the fourth time in their respective careers and the first time since 2018, Stephen Curry and LeBron James faced off on Christmas Day. The superstar matchup did not disappoint.
Both James and Curry turned in incredible performances and the game was decided in the final seconds. A game-winning layup from Austin Reaves proved to be the difference as the Lakers earned a 115-113 win over the Warriors.
Reaves recorded a triple-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the game. As for the headliners, James scored 31 points, dished out 10 assists and pulled down four rebounds while Curry finished with 38 points on 14-of-24 shooting, including eight triples.

Lakers 113, Warriors 113
10:27 p.m.: Stephen Curry is unreal!
After the Lakers extend the lead to four points with two free throws, Curry hits a contested corner 3 to cut the deficit to one point with under 15 seconds remaining in regulation.
Austin Reaves coolly sinks two free throws to put LA back up by three points with 8.9 seconds remaining in regulation. Timeout Warriors.
Lakers 113, Warriors 110
10:21 p.m.: It’s getting interesting in the Bay.
Dennis Schröder drains a 3 to cut the deficit to four points. After a stop, Stephen Curry slices that deficit in half with a quick layup. It’s a quick 7-0 run for the Warriors, who trail by two points with 25.3 seconds left.
Lakers 109, Warriors 107
10:14 p.m.: It’s Austin Reaves’ time!
After Golden State cuts the deficit to three points, Reaves hits a 3 and a transition floater on back-to-back possessions to extend LA’s lead back to eight points with 3:48 remaining.
Reaves is on triple-double watch with 22 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in 33 minutes of action.
Timeout Warriors.
Lakers 102, Warriors 94
10:08 p.m.: We’ve got another timeout on the floor at the near-midway point of the fourth. The Lakers remain ahead.
Los Angeles leads by seven points with 6:11 remaining in regulation. Given who Golden State has on its side, no lead is safe.
Lakers 97, Warriors 90
10:04 p.m.: LA continues to respond.
Some sharp shooting from Rui Hachimura is helping the Lakers stay ahead. Hachimura’s got 15 points and is 5-of-6 from 3-point range.

Lakers 94, Warriors 85
9:55 p.m.: And here come the Warriors.
Golden State has chipped away at the deficit. After falling behind by 10 points early in the fourth, the Warriors ring off a quick 5-0 run to cut it back to five points.
Timeout on the floor with 9:32 left.
Lakers 88, Warriors 83
End of third quarter: Lakers 84, Warriors 76
9:46 p.m.: Three quarters down and one to go. In regulation, at least.
LA takes an eight-point lead into the fourth quarter after outscoring Golden State 29-24 in the third frame.
LeBron James leads all scorers with 26 points. Stephen Curry leads the Warriors with 21 points and has canned five triples. It’s only right that the two all-time greats are shining the brightest on Christmas Day.
Golden State will need much more Curry to get back in it in the fourth.
9:40 p.m.: Anthony Davis’ night is officially done, per ESPN’s Shams Charania and Lisa Salters during the broadcast.

9:37 p.m.: The Lakers have responded.
LA is on an 11-2 run and is back out to a nine-point lead with 3:50 remaining in the third. The most encouraging part for the Lakers is that they were able to extend the lead by three points after LeBron James headed to the bench.
James has a game-high 26 points (on 10-of-17 shooting) in 25 minutes of action. Oh yeah, he’ll turn 40 in five days.
9:26 p.m.: And we’ve got a tie ballgame in the Bay.
Stephen Curry sinks his fifth 3-pointer of the night to knot things up. He’s up to 21 points to lead the way for the Warriors while Andrew Wiggins has scored 19 points in 22 minutes.
LeBron James’ 21 points lead the way for the Lakers. James — and another member of the Lakers — will need to step up in a major way if Anthony Davis is unable to return. LA has been employing a small-ball lineup in Davis’ absence.
9:20 p.m.: Anthony Davis is officially questionable to return with a sprained left ankle, ESPN’s Lisa Salters reported during the broadcast.
Davis has still not returned to the floor and most signs indicate that his night may be done.
Halftime: Lakers 55, Warriors 52
9:10 p.m.: Could we see Anthony Davis in the second half?
According to reports from ESPN’s studio crew, Davis has gotten his ankle re-taped and plans to test it in the third quarter.
9:03 p.m.: It’s only right that the stars came alive as the first half came to a close.
LeBron James and Stephen Curry each made a few big plays during the final minutes of the second quarter to electrify the Chase Center crowd.

James leads all scorers with 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting. He’s also pulled down three rebounds and dished out three assists.
Curry’s got a team-high 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-8 shooting from deep. It’s only been one half, but he’s turning in one of the best Christmas Day performances of his career.
8:58 p.m.: Still no sign of Anthony Davis as the first half winds down. Los Angeles leads by seven points with 2:39 remaining in the half.
Andrew Wiggins leads all scorers with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting. LeBron James is not far behind with 13 points to go along with three assists and two rebounds.
It’s still a relatively low-scoring affair in the bay.
Lakers 49, Warriors 42

JK puts everyone on notice with a filthy poster jam over not one but two Lakers defenders.

End of first quarter: Lakers 23, Warriors 23
8:30 p.m.: The first quarter is a wrap and things are all tied up. The pace is still slow but two of the former No. 1 picks in the game have found a rhythm.
Andrew Wiggins leads all scorers with 10 points (on 4-of-5 shooting). LeBron James isn’t far behind with eight points (on 4-of-7 shooting) to go along with three rebounds and an assist.
Golden State is shooting 9-of-22 (40.9 percent) from the field while LA is 10-of-25 (40.0 percent) through 12 minutes.
This one is shaping up to be a back-and-forth affair.
8:16 p.m.: At the first break in action, the Warriors have a one-point lead.
It’s been a pretty slow pace early on as the teams have combined to score 19 points in 6:13 of action. LeBron James is leading the way for LA with six points, three rebounds and an assist. Anthony Davis has yet to score but has pulled down two rebounds. He’s moving gingerly after rolling his ankle. That will be worth monitoring.
Dennis Schröder is up to six points early on to lead the way for Golden State while Stephen Curry is 1-of-2 from the field for two points.
Warriors 10, Lakers 9
