The Los Angeles Lakers’ weekend was highlighted by their finalized seven-team trade centered around Kevin Durant.
The franchise agreed to the deal three days prior, allowing them to participate in the historic NBA event.
After officially acquiring Adou Thiero, the son of former college superstar Mariam Sy (who averaged 22.4 points per game at Oklahoma City University before heading to the WNBA), the Lakers signed the 6-foot-8 forward to a multi-year deal late on Sunday.
“The Los Angeles Lakers signed No. 36 pick Adou Thiero to a 3-year, $5.95 million deal, which includes two fully guaranteed years and a third-year team option,” HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reported Sunday.
“He averaged 15.1 points on 54.5% shooting, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.6 steals for Arkansas as a junior.”
Thiero has a chance to be an immediate impact contributor with the Lakers next season. The Salt Lake City, Utah native is an elite, quick-twitch athlete who doesn’t waste any dribbles on the perimeter.

Whether completing quick jab steps or rip-throughs before finishing above the rim, or using fluid lateral footwork and recovery ability to succeed defensively, Thiero ensures he leaves his mark on the hardwood.
If Thiero, who shot 28.4% from three at the collegiate level, transforms into a serviceable long-range shooting threat in the big leagues, he’ll undoubtedly be a force to be reckoned with.
