Lakers’ Luka Doncic gets positive injury update from insider

Luka Doncic couldn’t be stopped during the Los Angeles Lakers’ first two contests against the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves.

The former Dallas Mavericks superstar torched the Warriors with 49 points and the Timberwolves with 43 points without LeBron James by his side (due to sciatica).

Unfortunately, Doncic’s scoring outbursts have come to a halt over the last three games, as the five-time All-Star has been inactive with a left finger sprain and lower left leg contusion.

While it’s never a good sign when a franchise’s most valued contributor misses time with multiple injuries, a recent injury report should excite the Lakers and their fanbase.

“The Lakers have upgraded Luka Doncic to questionable for tomorrow night’s NBA Cup game (against the Memphis Grizzlies),” ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel reported Thursday.

The Lakers desperately need Doncic to rejoin their lineup. If necessary, Austin Reaves will have no issues keeping the organization’s head above water as the only active 20+ points-per-game scorer.

However, in an ideal world, Los Angeles would lighten Reaves’ offensive load by allowing him to share playmaking responsibilities with Doncic as soon as possible.

Even with James still sidelined, the Lakers’ outlook would look promising with two of their three superstars competing with the franchise nightly.

If Doncic plays on Friday night, the Lakers should feel great about their chances of improving to 4-2 on the year.
